To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello all, I've searched around everywhere looking for a solution to my problem but can't find one unfortunately. I'm programming a brand new XPR 7550E in VHF analog mode, and I need the emergency MDC1200 message to be sent on the current radios selected channel. In the drop down menu in the CPS, it only gives me the option to select an emergency revert channel. I do not want the radio to revert to another channel when the emergency function is activated. The radio needs to stay on its current selected channel, However, I can't locate how to do this. Even in the help menu it says I should be able to select "Selected Channel" instead of a revert but its not there. Any tips? Thanks.

From the Notes

The Selected option is a valid choice when every analog channel has its TX Signaling System feature set to an MDC System.

I confirmed in my 7580 CodePlug if you assign the MDC System to all Analog channels "SELECTED" shows up and is an option

I have all channels set for TX MDC1200 in the zone. I have other zones that do not use MDC1200. Do the other zones without MDC1200 have to have Signaling enabled? Makes no sense if so.

Create a second MDC system under Signaling Systems. Set the PTT ID Type to NONE. Scroll down to your emergency and set your revert on both systems to the proper revert or selected channel. You have to have an MDC system on the channel so create one that does not send an ID on PTT but it will allow you to choose your revert channel.

I have to admit, I read your posting wrong but no matter what, if you want your emergency to work when the radio is on ANY channel, this is how it's done.

Yes every channel in every zone needs to have a TX System assigned to it. I verified, I removed one TX system from one channel and Selected was not an option any longer.
