• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi does the NNTN7335B battery charge in the motorola v3.40 WPLN4114AR impres charger correctly? Im using the 2800mah version of this battery and it starts chirping low battery at 40% with a lot of capacity still left in it. Also gets to 2 bars at 80% ive intialized it twice so far using the charger mentioned above. Still does it. Standard low battery alert enabled, not early warning. Do i need a new battery or charger or both? Please let me know asap. Thanks. Battery is li-ion

Without reading it on an Impres battery data reader it's hard to know. The numbers you are posting are not exact. Also the battery with that date code could be as old as 2012 13th week of 12

213 would indeed indicate a battery from March 2012, which means the battery is a decade old at this point. Probably time for a new one.

Motorola switched to four digit date codes around mid 2012, so that date code would now be represented as 1213.

Also note that they normally give the batteries date codes that are a few months ahead of the actual date of manufacture that the IMPRES reader shows. So for example, one of my APX batteries has a date code of 2028 (28th week of 2020, or mid-July), whereas the manufactured date on the IMPRES chip is Feb 27th, 2020. That's nearly half a year's difference. All of my APX, XTS, and XPR batteries follow the same pattern, which means your battery was probably actually manufactured in late 2011.

Agreed. The date codes seem to be when the batteries get to market. They’re made a few months before that. The Impres battery reader shows the exact date they were actually made. It’s an amazing device, & I was lucky to pick one up brand new at the Orlando Ham Fest a few years ago for $35.

Oh yeah, to answer your question...the WPLN4114AR is a very capable charger, and while there is firmware newer than 3.4 (3.9 or 3.11 I forget), it mostly addressed issues with APX batteries, so it shouldn't apply to you.
