If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have an Motorola XTS3000 model III and I am trying to determine what I need to change in the CPS to display the unit's ID that is talking on a talkgroup on my display. Any suggestions?

For MDC ID, you need to have MDC enabled in the signaling tab for each personality. Then in display and menu, advanced tab, enable talkgroup id on rx. That may work.

The radio must have "Enhanced Caller ID" feature in the flashcode. If it doesn't then it won't work.
Also the XTS3000 will not cross reference the Call List to list an users name like it does in the 2500 and 5000.

you must have H14 digital ID display in the flash, flashcode will start with a 4 or 5 if you have it.

in CPS go to radio config>displays and menus>PTT ID

check the box for PTT ID display.

The only way to get that is by flashing the radio firmware and flash code. On the older versions, the analog ID display is not available.
