i use a Motorola xts5000 model 3 to scan my states 800mhz p25 phase 1 system. its the south Carolina state wide system. i scan richland county,Lexington county,fairfield county, and Chester county. i hardly miss any traffic but on the Chester county site when i scan the Chester county sheriff and Chester pd i miss alot of traffic.does anybody have suggestions on any settings changes i can make.

1) Stop using a Motorola radio to scan our system. That method is using tools that should have never been made public to do so, and if not done properly will get your radio tracked down and inhibited... and yes... SLED loves to track down people illegally accessing communications systems in this state.
2) Buy a scanner and you'll not have these issues and a TON more support on here.

Program in the system ID with sustem key. Then you can literally enter in talkgroups specifically. Youll never miss any traffic then! Thats what i did!
