Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi all,

I'm trying to clone a new DP4401 radio and add it to the capacity plus site I'm on. Old radios Ver: 02.40.00 and new one is Ver:02.24.01.1002

The instructions left for me where to read the old one, clone it to the new one and change the radio ID to the next one on the list. I have done that but when on the capacity plus channels I get the double amber flash and a tone when tryng to key, the direct channels key but can't be heard on the older radios. The older radios still work fine.

I've compared the codeplugs and can't see any differeces that jump out.. Any ideas?

So you are taking a subscriber/code plug that is 10+ years old. (R02.40.00 was a 2014 release) and trying to read it and clone it into a current version.

Any number of things could have gone wrong, including the repeater software (Capacity Plus) is also old and the new subscribers have changes to the Over The Air Protocol, and other components that will prevent you from successfully doing this.
