• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued.     To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am working on a project for a non profit organization, I am looking into the possibility of deploying a MotoTrbo Network that would be able to use internet data to provide real time data for on scene incidents as well as have 1 central hub that is stationary,

What Mobile data options would TRBO Supply to end users?
I would like to see the use of laptops, tablets and PDA's from mobile commands and well as ROIP and Voice operations to connect users over ROIP in real time to transfer images, video and data as well as voice, does TRBO Support this type of operations?

Also,

If using TRBO in the field in a mobile command situation, will the MotoTRBO ROIP Functionality support other radios in Analog or just the TRBO line or radios?

I am working on a non profit project to connect other Non profit SAR, Rescue and Disaster Agencies via Data and Voice using MotoTRBO, any ideas would be more than welcome if it's allowable :)

The data rate that MOTOTRBO can provide is very low - around 1.4 kbps. It's fine for short text messaging and even for sending information from 'forms' (as long as the entire 'form' isn't sent). But for what you're wanting to do, it sounds like you need broadband data capabilities.

MOTOTRBO does include GPS data, short text messaging, and some basic telemetry, in addition to the 1.4 kbps of 'extra overhead' data that's available.

Interoperability with analog radios can be achieved, fairly easily, with products available from Motorola Application Providers.
