Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Is there any way to connect a PC or even a mobile device to a MotoTRBO mobile radio using Bluetooth? Could a Windows Mobile / CE handheld connect with a USB cable? I would like to be able to transmit data from a Windows Mobile application through the MotoTRBO network. Is this possible? It would be nice to be able to connect via bluetooth as well. I am guessing that the handheld would also have to be able to act as a USB host.

As far as I know there isn't a Bluetooth dongle for the MotoTRBO radios. The mobiles and portables do have USB connection to the PC (and yes you could use a portable or mobile). If you have the drivers and connect them, they appear in Windows Network Connections list. The drivers, as far as I know, are only for Windows XP and were just recently released for Windows 7.

If you can get that to work, then you would need a PC also connected with a mobile through USB, and it would act as a gateway to your standard IP network. In theory it's all IP so it should work, but no promises.

Hope that helps!

First, the radios need to have BlueTooth.

Second, they need specific BlueTooth profiles to do what you want.
You got DUN (Dial Up Networking), LAP (LAN Access Profile), PAN (Personal Area Networking), and/or SPP (Serial Port Profile). These 4 BT profiles allow PC to connect and network through the mobile device.

As for the MotoTRBO network, I don't know enough about it to give you an answer.
