• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

hi,
Just got a new radio today straight from a Motorola dealer for my new truck. I bought the CPS from Motorola Online and use it on my other radio on the fleet. I downloaded the lastest version available from today wich is 16.0 build 828. I did the Bluetooth connection Bridge between my computer and radio, initialized an "access point" connection and radio pings successfully at 192.168.11.1. When i try to read i'm getting error #1027 Codeplug version not supported. Radio vendor is using the same version as mine, so i'm a bit confused. Radio is brand new and fully updated from yesterday, using lastest CPS, and yes it's a AA.

any tough ?

Welcome to the CPS2 nightmare! All kinds of stupid things on the horizon now.

Unfortunately you'll have to get or homebrew yourself a cable. If you happen to have an accessory connector available it's super easy to make your own cable.

Take it back to the dealer and see if they can trade it for another new one in their stock with the 2.09.01 firmware instead of 2.10. If not they should be able to loan you a cable to program it. Otherwise it would maybe be a good anchor for a bass boat.

Bluetooth programming was dropped form CPS 2.0 and since you have 2.10 firmware...you have to use CPS 2.0. A USB programming cable can be made via a spare USB cable and the accessory connector if you have the ability to crimp/solder the pins.

Each brand new mobile co.es with an accessory connector and pins. I have made a programming cable in the field with a USB cable and that connector (and some pliers). I now carry the correct crimper in my tool kit. TT

thanks for all your replies, i had to build an USB programming cable and it's working now. I was able to re-enter my entitlement key to the new CPS2.0 and everything is now working. I guess i must adapt myself now.
