• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Does anyone know if I could create a reject list?

I am trying to understand if I can make this system secure from the NY jammers. They have a radio guy working with them.

So we need to be smarter than them.
I was told I could order with RAS and remote control boards.
I was also told RAS is a lsit I must build and it only works with Motorola radios.
We would like to allow the inexpensive CS700 access to the system.

Any guidance would be appreciated

TIA

PS repeater not purchased yet, need to know all the options we may need to order.

Yes to exclude list

Suggest you search for Mototrbo system planner PDF.

You can exclude a RID or a group of ID's or make a group to be included only.

No RAS option needed, but nice to have along with this feature.

You will need to go the site to program the repeater.

If you are to exclude an ID you need to know it, of course one can always change the RID if one put 2+2 together.

OK, I did dl the pdf and scan through the features, but did not find the exclude section.
Where in the document did you find this?
This sound like it could be the answer, guess if I had the remote package with the MTR, I could program the repeater from the GUI to change this?

Thanks

Remote repeater programming is a software entitlement for your REGISTERED software, good for one computer. I would not suggest uploading firmware upgrades that way, I think the software won't let you.

ID Range Restrictions are not part of the codeplug until Restricted Access to System (RAS) is purchased for each repeater in your system and entitled/registered. If a single repeater, only one EID needs to be purchased.

HKVN4047 IP Repeater Programming and Upgrade License $250.00
HKVN4177 Restricted Access To System Security $250.00
