Mount Clemens PD out of business

Gang (Especially to those around Mt Clemens),

You may or may not know this, but, I read on another website that the MCPD is no longer in business, however, the Macomb County Sheriff has been contracted to take over the patrol responsability. This information
has come to me via http://www.radioinfosystems.com & click on Updates. Just thought I would run that by everyone.

As fas as listening to them, nothing has changed.
The county previously took over Dispatch ( I believe a year ago). I still hear them on the Mt. Clemens Freq's. I believe part of the take-over is that the county gets the cars.

Yes, the Clem PD is no more after 113 years on duty.

Macomb County Sheriff has 4-6 Deputies on duty at all times... or more

The first night of MCSD patroling was the fireworks in the city. Sheriff Hackel had those 6... 12 motorcycle units... at least 8 quadrunner units.. not to mention other units on patrol in the city. Personally it was the best "show-of-force" that has ever happened in the city (lived in The Clem for 10 years now).

Dispatch is on the County F-1 and F-2 as MC units right now, altho that is expected to go back to 50 cars in the future. They took that over as of 6-28-05. The old Clem freq of 453.450 is QUITE quiet... have not heard any traffic on there... dont know what the plan is for the frequency.

As for the Clem officers all but 2 I beleive have taken positions with the Sheriff Dept. and they also picked up one of the dispatchers from the Clem officers. They are keeping the offices as a sub-station.

As several signs show... "There's a new Sheriff in town", and IMHO Sheriff Hackel is not doing a bad job.
