Mount on truck or roof

Help everyone I am seeing if it’s better to mount a vhf on top of the car or the truck of my car which is better truck or roof

I presume you meant to say TRUNK rather than truck? The roof is the most ideal location to mount a mobile antenna, unless you are driving a truck which can cause the antenna to strike low branches. Still, for best performance, the roof is ideal location rather than the trunk. Are you permanently mounting the antenna base into the metal, or considering a magnetic temporary mount?
