Great quote, they could probably use FRS and get great coverage considering the size of there police district.

"Chief Marco Vasquez, Sheridan Police Department, Colorado. "It's critical that we have the communication tools to effectively perform our duties as police officers and protect the citizens of Sheridan, and these mobile and portable radios enable us to do that."

Sheridan has more to do now I believe they cover all those new stores southwest of Sante fe and Hampden Like target / Costco. I hope they have a shoplifting squad :)

Good tax revenue for the city indeed. Although the rumors of a SFD merger continue.

I hope the M/A com radios work better than the POS EF Johnsons that were ALLEGEDLY P25 capable (and also approved by the CCNC...go figure).

urgentcomm.com broke the story earlier this week.

And it's not M/A com anymore it's Tyco Electronics Wireless Systems. (TEWS)

Any guesses when the company/division name changes yet again?

I've lost track of how many companies and company name changes have occurred since G.E. created EDACS in the 80's.

It's good to show history on things to teach others.

As much as EDACS was despised by some of us many years ago over time it has proven itself.
