moved scanner now dead

i just moved my scanner about the length of a recliner for my new recliner

it was picking up lots like Winnebago and others now its dead only fire

nothing dropped all the same connections also tried backup antenna all over still dead

whats up with that you cant move it ever

any ideas i would really appreciate your time and ideas

If you move that scanner back to where it was, does it work then?
It's certainly possible that moving the antenna can affect what it 'hears'. That's especially true if that antenna isn't exactly a well designed one and indoors to boot. That 'well designed' thingy is very relative, and more so for multi-band type antennas. The simplest explanation would be that something is 'blocking' the signal from getting to the antenna and scanner. What's blocking the signal? I haven't the slightest idea!

Did you stress the antenna connector(s)? I've fixed countless antenna connections between the connector and circuit board on scanners and occasionally cables get abused and break inside the connector. If something once worked and a human intervened, usually the human broke it and its not the equipment that failed on its own.

i will try all of thos and yes stupid me its closer to cordless phone then it was with the old recliner i went from a big table to a smaller one because is a bigger recliner

i will move that and also check all the lines thanks so much guys

and eqipment hard to tell its my very old uhf or whatever the old ones are bearcat that i used to use from the 2000 till i got my new uniden home patrol that is in the shop

again thanks i will check everything and if nothing works assume the old thing gave up
