Moving back to Chester County - what to listen to

So I am moving back to Chester County and thinking about what to listen to on the HomePatrol and BC-396XT.... I know I can't track the EF Johnson system (but can listen to a live feed) for the county.... I also know I can monitor 160.185 for fire and EMS dispatches.... What else are people listening to in Chester County? I will have a great monitoring location... May be Philadelphia's trunked system.....

well here in chester co u can listen to west chester on their 500 MHz p-25 system and the sheriff on theirs also township on their private channels trains, planes, medical helicopters mall cops target local bussness Walmart construction companys school buses ects

Depending on where you are in Chester you may also be able to hear the State of Delaware Type II Astro system, Cecil County VHF paging (they are in the planning stage to go P25), And also the Lancaster County system.

I expect to monitor Lower Merion and Philadelphia as well. Will be in Devon at quite high elevation.

You can probably get some Delco stuff. Maybe Springfield and Radnor/Haverford Police. Montgomery County East system should be a staple as well.

I can't pick up anything from Philly where I'm at in Chester, but I can hear Lancaster, Cecil MD, Delaware, Montgomery (sometimes), Salem and Gloucester in NJ, NCC in Delaware...Even hear some of Hartford County MD if the conditions are right...

I'd love more suggestions too.

Also, you can listen to the EF Johnson system if you program all the frequencies in order with no delay. Granted there's no talk ID's or anything but its better than nothing.

Nice! 159.075 used to be the turnpike. You should get something on that. How about anything Berks county?

DELCO sector 2 and sector 6 are both close to the Devon area. Newtown Sq. & Radnor border the Devon area. A few of these towns also use their old pre-county radio frequencies/channels as car to car channels.

I live on the edge of West Philly and can monitor the Philly system however as close as I am it can be very scratchy at times.
