Moving to Chapin from Tennesee

Welcome to South Carolina and the Chapin area. I live near Irmo, not too far away from Chapin. I think you'll be pleased with how much you can receive though the Lexington County Sheriff's transmissions are encrypted. Almost everything operates under the Palmetto 800 trunking system (APCO P25). Brian, and others on the South Carolina forum, can help you out. I'm sure others will be joining me on this thread, but again, welcome.

DNR is active on VHF:151.415 can be active sometimes.
