moving to marion county

hello, I am moving from Pennsylvania and will be in marion county (Decatur Twp.) by Jan 12. I have been looking for Frequencies but not able to find any?

Also I have been seening alot of this SAFE-T and MECA and talkgroups what does it all mean? and can a regular uniden from the wal-mart shelf be just as good?? Right now I have too handheld scanners both are in texas getting repaired, 1st is bc80xlt (wal-mart shelf) the othere is from a few years ago, the model tag is missing but i think it is a bc250xlt? anyway it has 200 channels 29 - 956 mhz as the question was will I need a upgraded scanner.

You will need a scanner capable of monitoring trunked radio systems. If you in fact have a BC250, that would do the trick.

get a digital scanner marion county will be upgrading meca to digital in 05 sometime also the indiana state police are on safe-t which is a combination of digital and analog state uses digital. everbody uses meca in marion county even wayne if you see old info for their edacs they are not on it anymore
