I might be moving to Renton near Lake Washington around the start of the new year. For this area which trunk group would provide the best reception?

Seattle Simulcast
or
King County/ValleyCom Simulcast

Thank you, best

The Vallycom system will give you the most coverage of the area outside of central Seattle.

It covers all of the eastern and southern areas of King county and the some of the western side as well.

Hi...one more question....does the city of Renton's Fire Department have their own talkgroups or are they using the King County Fire talkgroup for their dispatch?

All the city's in south east King county like Renton are dispatched on the VallyCom system on what is called 'fire 1' (talk group 38448) and after tone out they are assigned a working channel.

There are a few fire districts that have their own 'admin' groups, but for the most part everyone is on the main system groups.

Thank you again....from the chart it shows Renton PD as:

37232 Renton Police Dispatch Law Dispatch
37264 Renton Police TAC

Do you know if Renton PD uses any other talkgroups for traffic, patrol, detectives, etc.?

I take it you are looking at the listed data base here on RR. If it is not listed, then you have to suspect that these are the only talk groups.

If you are not using the RR data base, go to the freguency data page, click on WASH, then click on Seattle, then on the right select King County, then go to the bottom of the page and select Seattle-King Co public safety, this will bring all the information on the systems and talk groups.

Go down and select site 06, valleyCom and used those control frequency's.

Then you can go down the page and see all the talk groups.
