Whats up with Mpls PD ? I dont hear anything but some talk on Ch2 ( ID # 2956). Are they using some different control freqs or IDs? Even Ch 2 is not very busy.

It is very cold out so crime goes down. Also, they may be dispatching via mobile data terminals. Using them for low priority calls for service.

What Control freqs do the use? I have pluged in the City Center and The Mpls N/S control freqs . I dont hear the fire disp. ether. I have been compairing the trafic with a live feed so I know its not just because its cold out.

Ch 2 is always active dispatching 4th precinct, but from how i understand it from MECC dispatchers i know, Ch 2 has become a cakewalk compared to ch 1 and ch 3... MDC's carry the bulk of the information, but all calls are assigned over the radio.

Try getting rid of the City Center control channels and just using the Mpls ones. City Center is the home system for State Patrol, EMS, MNDOT, etc but not Mpls PD and FD. Your scanner can only listen to one control channel at a time so if it's on the City Center one, it's very possible that you won't hear Mpls PD and FD. If you just use the Mpls control channels, you should hear Mpls PD and FD just fine as long as you have a good signal.

Oh yeah, It would also be very helpful if we knew your location and what you are using for a scanner and antenna.

MPLS PD systems
101, 109 ,& 201 all have sites @ City Center and HC Government Center covering downtown MPLS
109 is the primary/home site for all MPD talkgroups, the high traffic talkgroups are split between 101 and 201 for alternate coverage
P01, P03, P05 are on tower 101
P02, P04, P06 are on tower 201.

city center, mpls simulcast and Henn West all have transmitters on HCGC i believe.

City Center, Mpls, and Henn East all have transmitters at 300 S 6th St (Henn Co Govt Ctr) and 33 S 6th St (City Center Bldg). Henn West transmitters are all in western Hennepin County except for one in Anoka.

If you click on the site name in the database, it will bring up details of the site. Then if you click on the call sign it will bring up a map and a list of addresses for all the transmitters for that site.

101, 201, etc are the site IDs. Looks like they have actually changed in the database.

101 is now 1-001
109 is now 1-009
201 is now 2-001

ARMER changed its format now that they are adding in additional zone controllers... sites actually are 002-001 for henn East according to the direct feed from the control channels...
