I spoke to someone in the know and that TG ID has too many numbers to be associated with CP. CP will start with 2XXX and will only have 4 numerics in it. He also said they ARE joining the system and dumping nextels.

I can't imagine who else would be out on Metro Detroit's freeways all day long doing motorist assists. You may want to give it a listen. I could still be mistaken, but I don't think so.

And when they reach 2999 what happens??? (Guess what, it happened)...

There are now talkgroups in the 12000 range....

The guy I spoke to deals with them daily at work. I can't say more but we do still have 10-99 in the spectrum not used.

Are you sure that's the talkgroup ID and not the alpha tag on their Motorola?

Yup just heard on 3831 Saranac fire called on Ionia Fire South so it is ionia County Fire South and also looks like Ionia City PD moved from 3450 to 3830

3831 is in the database as police south... I did hear Ionia City PD on 3830 while hunting storm damage yesterday.

Yep positive because the state system hasn't gotten into the 5th digit for normal use yet. The only MPSCS 5digit ids are the Michigan State Police/Indiana State Police border patches.

Heard two mobile units talking to each other on TG: 12062, off the Northville tower. They were on I-94, and were commenting about two MSP Detroit Freeway units that flew past them at high-speed. I heard this talkgroup key-up earlier, but with no audio. Anyone else hear any traffic on this new TG?

CP is dispatched by Station 20 MSP Dispatch and that TG you all say is CP isn't in the Dispatch console at all. Info is they will be on the system but they aren't as of yet and they don't have radios they only use nextels.

i heard that tg at 8pm did sound like cp east bound 96

I have never heard a direct dispatch of CP on any MSP talkgroup. And I wouldn't really expect to. They are not law enforcement.

There are a number of 12xxx talkgroups showing up on the system. They've been logged with Pro96Com and by people monitoring (Including me). The traffic being heard sounds like the CP, and with the number of people reporting it, I have no reason to believe that it isn't CP.

Mike CP works off NEXTEL which is how they are dispatched by MSP.

MSP Dispatch is the only place/people that dispatch them from call to call.

Courtesy Patrol is overseen by MDOT/MSP but is a outside contractor out of New York state. It's been that way for a while. Now the CVS CP is different, no one knows who they are dispatched by or how they get called but I see them on I-696 from time to time.

Actually Rob, Anything that you see on Les's site is from its members.....nothing is posted there unless it is CONFIRMED.

The 5 digit talkgroup in question is indeed CP on Michigan freeways.....I caught station 20 talking to them just a short time ago......

The CP you heard isn't MDOT's CP it's CVS (Pharmacy) a private contractor with no ties to the state.

They shouldn't be allowed on the system at all.

Utica PD in Macomb County is using T/G 2881.

Monitored them off the Macomb Slimcast system tower. Very choppy comms here in Romeo....
