Ron,

I have 8190 as Detroit Water and Sewer I suppose I marked as such from Pro96com data but can't say for sure.

Can anyone make sense out of talkgroup: 8190? I am hearing it off the Northville tower, and it sounds like some sort of data. Driving me crazy right now.

Rumor has it that Detroit Water and Sewer is receiving some new communications consoles. I wonder if that was the problem when they were being installed?

TG 2903 Detroit 701 Simulcast

Hi everyone

Tonight Ive been picking up TG 2903 off the Detroit Tower. It sounds like LEIN traffic and dispatch is answering calls from 16xx units. I could not find this TG in the database or elsewhere? I do not usually get te Detriot Tower very well from my house (Plymouth) so I am not too familiar with Detroit's System, but I thought most of their TG's were 8xxx.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I haven't ID'd this TG as of yet other than it has been showing up with Wayne County ID's on Pro96COM. Perhaps it is 82LEIN since you are hearing LEIN traffic and I only see Wayne COunty ID's

I have been gets DG (Digital) signals off a few departments on the Wayne County 800 Analog system.

Westland
Taylor
Southgate
and a few others when I was down there. At night I get a few others from the 800 analog system and they come in DG and sometimes as analog.

2904 is Fraser so I wonder if this isn'tmaybe a Macomb LEIN channel.

I think your right this could be Wayne County Sheriff LEIN, I will keep listening and try to find out more, but so far today I have not got any traffic on 2903

I am thinking that 2903 might be Highland Park PD. I believe their units are in the 1600 series. This would make complete sense to have them up on the MPSCS. Especially, since Detroit and someday soon Wayne County will be operating on the same radio system.

Tg 2175

I have been listening to TG 2175 off the Northville tower for the last hour and I am hearing two guys talking back ad fourth about taking this drive (only saying north, east, and such no road names) and that drive, and once I heard one of them refer to the service drive.

I do no see this TG listed on the database or in this thread, anyone else getting any traffic on it?

MSP D2-K9 Not a very active talkgroup, but always District 2 K9 teams.

I have been listening all night and it sounds more like a work crew than law enforcement. Most recently they were discussing their location and one man directed the other to left by a fire hydrant off Haggerty and follow a fence, but none of the talk has sounded urgent and they do not sound like they are looking for anyone. (One person was talking about talking about falling asleep in his chair waiting for the other one to get there)

I just confirmed again about 5 minutes ago that TG-2175 is "K9-2" "K9-28 from K9-26 go to K9-2"

Maybe at the time they were just using it for general chat instead of a dispatch or post group? Wouldn't be the first time.

Ron,

I could be wrong....but I could have sworn that highland park disbanded their police department?? Their Fire Department almost went out the door too...but they managed to keep it and even get a new truck..... Highland Park was a Public Safety Department at one time police officers=firefighters and firefighters=police officers....

Am I wrong? I thought they did get rid of the police department which is why Wayne County Sheriff has dedicated units there???

Our contract expired June 30th of this year and we pulled-out of HP. They decided to start their own police department back up made up of part-time officers since that solution was cheaper (up front) than renewing a contract with us.

We no longer have any "dedicated" units in HP. We pass through on the DDOT bus line...of course, we still do spot checks, FOC, serve warrants, etc...but no dedicated HP units anymore.

BTW, yes...back when Detroit was made-up of 13 "precincts", HP was known as "16" on "district 3" (ch 3 on the Detroit Radio, comprised of the 7th precinct, 13th precinct and HP "16")...we still used "16 desk" when calling the HPPS officer at the mini-station while we were out there...so you are correct with the 16XX unit association with Highland Park...

At State police post 24, they have a unit called 24-Bruce....Is this a Bruce Twp. car?

Yes it most certainly is.

There is one permanant Trooper there and the other is a floater. The permanant one works there whenever he is scheduled to work and the other is random but as of late has been the same Trooper for over a month now which sucks because he was a ball buster when he worked the William beat.

While travelling on 131 through Petoskey through Boyne Mountain I heard consistant chatter between State Troopers bascially "bS'ing." on TGID 5017 It was very amusing. Nice to know the L.E. sense of humor is universal across state lines.

While it may have been state troopers you heard, I am not so sure it was an MSP tg. When I was in that area last month, while driving between Petoskey and Charlevoix, I heard two MSP units on 4035 (D7W) say "go to 24", then they showed up on this the same tg you are asking about.

In other parts of the state I have heard MSP use some of the seldom used xxCOM or xxDRUG tg's for chit-chat in a particular area..

Jim,

That makes sense as I look at the RR guide which shows that TGID in this manner:

Cheboygan County (16) Talkgroups
5017 16COM Countywide Common (Mutual Aid all agencies) ?
