MPSCS Preprogramed system all towers?

I have a BCD396T and have it programed with my local conv.channels. I left the preprogramed MPSCS system in it set to id search but it seems like it only receives off of one tower. If I enter a new system wtih the one channel for each tower. It will pick up each tower and I can listen to the towers that are close to me which is fine if I stay around this area but I would like one system with all towers in case i travel around MI. It looks to me like the preprogramed system should work but it is not. Any ideas on how to get it to work or should I start over and program my own system which would take a long time to get all id's in.

The radio will only find the 1st control channel for a system. If you have ALL the control channels programed as 1 system you will only get 1 tower.

That Helps me out. I need to program in more towers in new systems so I can pick up all towers around me. I think I will leave the MPSCS system in but lock it out till I leave my area and go to a place I do not have programed in.

Try programing each of the towers as a seperate system.

I have put a few in already and that seems the best way to go. Than I can see the tower name and get a better idea of what is going on around each tower. It seems like there should be a better way to put in all the towers and ID numbers under one system the scanner seems to scan faster that way. If I put all towers in It would tak a long time to scan. Of course I could lock out far towers as a drive but I would have to know the towers locations as I go.

Is there a way to transfer the ID numbers for the state system from one system to a new one? At work now and dont have the program cord to try.

I have multible towers in my 796 and could not deal with all the TG's so I wrote a program that will display the TG's alpa tag on my PC when it's scanning. Would be a nice option on a scanner to be able to have mutible Towers (ie systems) on a scanner and one TG list.

Whar do you mean, program as a seperate system? Do you mean put a different tower in each bank?

The 396 doesnot have banks it has systems.
