Whats really crazy is I am like 35 miles from the tower. I got a new higher gain omni antenna and now I can pick it up. I also got a yagi; when I had it on a 2 foot cable it seemed to pick up a lot of stuff, but now its on the roof and I think I have too much cable and its not working as well as the omni. Probably need an LNA.EMS Station 2 is the Ambulance Barn in Manton, which explains why it's patched on that TG. Mesick Rescue is located in Mesick (pretty obvious), which explains the TG patch there too. EMS Station 1, City Fire, 900 Rescue, and 400 Rescue are all in Cadillac or the surrounding Area. Buckley Rescue is closer to the Mesick MPSCS site, so they're probably patched out on a separate TG as well. I haven't monitored anything on this system since VHF went off the air right after Christmas last year, it's nice to hear about some stuff from this county again!
Is there a dispatching Talkgroup for all fire/EMS Agencies, like a Central Dispatch Channel, or is everything done through individual TGs? I’ve never been able to figure out how their MPSCS system is set up, and it sounds highly complicated for such a basic county with 8-9 calls a day.If the weather is good, I can pick up the Manton site....
