I've been hearing Northflight Rescue out of Traverse City on TG 4030 pretty regularly for the past couple months or so. Is this TG no longer for MSP D7 Emergency Management (it's RR description)?
There aren't many people on this forum from the Traverse City area, so it's likely that nobody else from here is monitoring that talkgroup. Are you hearing it?
Was in the area a few days ago, but heard nothing on that tg. Several months ago when in that part of the state it was still used for its listed description. Since this is a district-wide EMD tg, I doubt the usage has changed, as it would make no sense to do all of the reprogramming. Perhaps some of the northflight units have this in their radios and decided to use it occasionally.
gg750..only had the new scanner for one week but will be checking the logs for North Flight on that TG...I think there may be a few more folks up here in the north than some think but maybe they aren't posting yet...
Yeah Glockken. Got the 996D late November. I only heard Northflight 1 time, soon after I got scanner trunking. Not since. There be a few of us around TC that listen. Loving this digital stuff. Gotta get my antenna on top of that utility pole. Yeah, thats the ticket. JohnJ
Thats good to hear Glockken. I am just into Leelanau County, got hills all around me. Its like I am sitting in the bottom of a bowl. Still, no problems reaching out to listen to MPSCS. At the moment got a 3 db ground plane at 25'. Plans are to get this up higher by spring time. I hear your Rapid City Tower here. Along with at least 6 more most all the time. Vhf comms are still very busy up here. Plenty to listen to. JohnJ
I've heard them use a couple of different talk groups since. They usually don't use the MPSCS unless they're going out of range of their non-repeated analog base here in Traverse City. I also discovered that they will use the Event or EMD talk groups when going to some hospitals becuase those are the only TGs that both the helo and hospital have programmed in their radios.
