During my recent holiday in Queensand I logged a lot of trunking systems, mainly MPT1327 control channels and some Motorola sites

I have started to get around to checking the ACMA Database for transmitter locations, related voice channels and put together site lists for eventual inclusion into the RR database.

Both the MPT data control channel and the Motorola data Control channel have distinctive sounds which make them easy to recognise. Recent scanner and software releases make it relativelly easy to monitor these trunking sites for activity eg uniden trunk tracker for motorola sites, trunkview/vbtrunk for MPT1327

If you are in Queensland have a listen on the 165Mhz, 415Mhz and 865Mhz bands and see if you can hear any trunking. Note down the control channel frequencies and post them here. I am aware of MPT1327 sites in Bundaberg, Cairns and Weipa, so there is obviously more to discover, especially the BISCOM system. I believe there is some Motorola trunking in Rockhampton

Interesting. My records show System ID 0A15 as Brisbane Airport, and System ID 183A as Mt Coot-tha.

There are MPT1327 sites west to Toowoomba, and Mt Mowbullan, but they are not very active, particularly the Biscom and Vertel sites.

MPT1327 sites in SE Quensland

What would be really helpful for those in and around the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast is to run the freely available MPT decoding software onto these frequencies listed earlier from the Phantom. I have found it literally can be run off any scanner and fed to your PC/laptop sound card audio and logged as text data. It will show system id, group originator, radio ids etc and provided you programme another scanner with the sites' frequencies (locking out the control channel of course) you follow the conversations manually reasonably well.

I am particularly interested in the company details, system id, site frequencies in use (often less than what is shown on the ACMA register), so that we can enter it onto the RR database. In Queensland you have MPT networks set up by Biscom,Telstra Fleetcoms and Vertel plus a few other small users.

TRUNKVIEW 1.22

(I find difficulty storing site info forlater use)

trunk sniffer (vbtrunk.exe)

Let us know what you have heard/monitored

TrunkView supports a large range of scanner models, and allows you to use just one scanner for both decoding the control channel, and monitoring the Voice channels. If you use a second scanner to follow the conversations manually, you miss out on important information transmitted on the Voice channels (MAINT | call maintenance messages). Also, when using the one scanner for both functions, the Voice traffic can be recorded on the harddrive as Prefix/time-stamped WAV files (at least under XP).

I am particularly interested in the company details, system id, site frequencies in use (often less than what is shown on the ACMA register), so that we can enter it onto the RR database.
A site I monitor has 19 Prefixes in use, of which over 12 are Data traffic only, the remaining ones are mainly Data with very infrequent Voice messages (eg, 4 messages in a 10 hour period), which makes determining User details rather difficult.

Anyway, the Site is:-
Fleetcoms - Middle Ridge, SysID: 5489, CC: 416.3625, Traffic: 415.8375, 416.8625, 417.3375, 417.8625.
Prefix (014) RACQ (Royal Automobile Club of Queensland) Roadside Service agent, Ident: 6409 Office, Ident: 7162 Workshop.
Prefix (066) Unid Courier company.
Prefix (093) Unid Courier company.

Do you mean difficulty saving the website pages, or difficulty with the program saving Site info?
