MRD, What is it?

Hello RR friends. I've seen the letters MRD in the descriptions of several sheriff's office radio channels and was wondering what the lettes stand for. For example: SHERIFF Ch.3 MRD, thanks guys

In New York State, several Sheriff's Departments use this designation. Their definition is Mobile Radio District - at least in Onondaga County (Syracuse, NY). Many smaller local police departments are on the sheriff's system.
