Bill,

It was analog, but I didn't have the scanner set to tone
search...I have since changed that. I'll keep listening
and try to catch the tone.

Just heard some digital stuff on 170.1 and one other
freq that I didn't get a chance to jot down.

Thanks. The Trunk will be Digital, but the Regionals are Analog and CTCSS
IT has been a lot of work, but only a few folks to get the DB going.

Lots of dedication by the SNE folks, for accuracy

Pretty Vague on who You heard, huh?.....
But the last few days I have logged 2 new TG's that might be used for real-time communications..

This was on 172.8125 from the Sugarloaf Site, (which is not in the database yet) and had original Region Net testing earlier, is now p25 and not conventional with 162.2 tone, like the other region nets...
Trying now to see which out of the 3 frequencies there will be used for region..

had Augusta -Zone 2 (SP) testing with several warden, and forestry service units, and a
Maine Dept of Environmental Protection unit,
and Bangor RCC, - Zone 3 (SP) talking to a 200 unit, that was on 95 in york...

From what I could gather from listening to tech's today, Cadillac Mtn is not up yet, which has a few new licenses, I submitted these today....

I just saw a D.O.T truck ( aka ford F250 ) that has a brand new vhf antenna -- still having the long lo-vhf antenna attatched. I bet they're gonna partake in the commnet. ( supervisors )

Anyone else catch todays talk? 1-pm.. They can't be by the car's for vehicle repeater to function propper. Talking about an extender, failsafe and how it works. I feel like I was at trunk school today. ID=511 SYSCOMM 1

Instead of me telling you guys what channels are popping up for usage, just scan them all, they're real close to going full time down here... Thought I heard the dreadded word -encryption-,mentioned, but all went quiet.. On my analog scanner-- the voice channel makes a different p25 noise than what I am accustom to hearing. I know, new technology...

The meaning of a STICKY...

A sticky means pertinent informational post,,,

All the "I heard this two's" and "I heard this's" are just making this thread kinda useless,,
Chit-Chat posts are getting annoying

These are all known TG's since real-time communications have started already...
134-SYSCOM 1 -statewide....any traffic heard with this TG, will be hard to determine what site you are hearing.

Can anyone tell me when the 172.8125 MHz transmitter on Sugarloaf Mtn went active? Also if there was any testing being done this past Thursday morning around 0800 in the morning?

Thanks.

The testing has been on-going, but has seemed to drop off a little lately....The Sugarloaf Site went active around 7/18, the date of my previous post...Mid-November is target date for the TRS to go live..

MSCOMMNET programming

Would someone mind giving me an overview of what I need to do to get my BCD996XT programmed with these new frequencies?

Thanks,

I saw the Chief on of the Maine State Police at the Fryeburg Fair and he said all cars and portable radios are already to go. The RCC are all ready to go. All they have to do is switch the Freqs on when the launch it.. He told me there still working the bugs out and everyone is all ready to go. The reason they keep delaying this turn on is because he told me as soon as it goes live the State of Maine will pick up any bugs or things wrong the radios So they are milking this as much as they can to make sure the radio company gets everything right the first time!!!

Hope this helps you

When I mean switch fres to launch I meant flip a switch like CMP. LOL
