Reminds me of a time in Lincoln Park...
Some guy who took his own life, had booby tapped his apartment with some grenades.
I was "lucky enough" to be there on standby (as a medic).... sat around for 4+ hours, then remember hearing, "FIRE IN THE HOLE!!" as the BS set a controlled detonation of whatever munitions the guy had around. We were about a block away, we were all waiting for some type of "bang..."
Then we just heard, "area clear....."
Wow, 4+ hours and thought we'd hear "something" (No, we were not hoping the BS guy would get hurt) a small bang or similar..... but nothing.... the most anti-climatic ending to anything I've been a part of.
But, of course, I guess that was a good thing.
Ok, end of my rambling.
