Not marked yet. They just rolled into my buddies work.

They will all be slick tops.

This is only 5 of the 40 expected. 20 will be MSP Blue and fully marked and the last set of 20 will be different colors and only marked on the passanger side per MI State Law

Has dual TLN2 talon lights b/r b/r
red mirror beams
TLN1 red talons on bottom of side doors(were moved cause of side curtin airbags)
2 TIR3 leds above the mirror, 1 red 1 blue
two TIR6 pushbumper lights with chrome mounts
Cars were factory installed fog lights(that were there just to fill the hole)
Which are hooked up to a headlight flasher
The switch box is still a 4 switch fedsig box with the switch functions....

SW 1. all leds front and rear and tail flasher
SW 2. hoodsign
SW 3. Headlight flasher and foglight flasher
SW 4. Steady burn fog lights

Pass spot is not hooked to a switch so the driver could use to turn it on, but I'm sure that will change.

I've always wanted to ask: what's the story about those hood signs? Looks like something out of the 1930's, but in a good way.

I always did like that color. It is similar to my the Impulse Blue on my GTO, except their blue is non-metallic and maybe a little bit lighter.

IMHO, the Spitfire beacons would look good on the Charger.

So is MSP switching over to the Charger, or are they just using a few for evaluation?

Will these be going to different posts around the state or are they just for one post/district? I did see Dodges "police package demo" Charger parked at my local post.

My local sheriff's dept. just bought 2 Chargers...one unmarked slick top, the other marked. I haven't seen the marked yet (not sure if it's ready...requires more painting and such), but the slick top is sweet...black with stobes and LEDs all over thie thing.

Blue Goose Hood Sign

The actual true original purpose of these signs:
As an officer pulls up on the left side of a car he wants to stop, he hits the hood sign with his left spot. This lights up the sign, telling the car to pull over "STOP STATE POLICE".

And yes, I know they are being put on backwards sometimes now a days. They are supposed to read from the right side of the car. I think even some of the installers don't know what the original intent of the sign is for.

1) All the Chargers will be slick tops. The Impala and Vic has a safety cross member above the drivers head and between the 2 doors where as the Charger doesn't. They would have to weld one in to put the Unity RV26 beacon on them. The beacon would have to have a platform because of it's weight so these will all be slick tops.

2) Its my understanding that select posts will get these cars, I will know more later on this.

3) The Spitfire lense is no longer made. Unity said if MSP wanted it then they would have to order them 1500 at a time. So the new beacons have a regular solid red dome. But the PAR46 rotator lamp stays the same.

4) Some of the cars have HEMI'S and some will not.

Thanks! Those are quite unique. Don't think I've ever seen that anywhere but Michigan.
LEDs are the best lights I've used in 27 years of throwing police cars around. They are even more eye-catching than strobes... the unit I currently use has a dimmer for night time - when I escort another vehicle on the airside at DIA, they're blinded by full-power. You can see the lights for a good 5 miles (we've tested it.)
