HQ is 39.62 and call signs are given around the clock - but I never hear the HQ units on this freq - nor on MSP 1.....anyone know if they are also using another freq for admin people going 10-7 / 10-8, etc? Perhaps they are simply remaining on Golden Ring's freq when in transit?

Yes, they use Golden Ring. The MSP HQ channel is, for lack of a better word, useless. It has been used in emergencies, and special situations, but other than that it's not used.

Thanks for the response....yep, I have yet to hear anything meaningful on 39.62. While we are on the topic of MSP....have you ever copied STATE TEAM comms on 39.4 or 39.24 (w/ distinctly different PLs than the barracks assigned to those freqs)? They are listed in th database.....but I have yet to hear a peep, even training comms, etc.

They used to use 155.19 High Band 3 for on scene ops.....is that what you are referring to?

Anyone out there know which VHF (High, perhaps?) he's referring to? MSP High 3 (155.19) used to be used by the STATE TEAM.....or perhaps there is another freq in use?

159.405 is what the state team uses for tactical ops esp drugs. this is confirmed as being in STATE team radios and being used by them

Thanx for this - make sure this gets to the database team; I'll add it to the MSP Grove page. I wish I had this freq this past weekend; there was a manhunt going on the other side of town, and it's possible I could have heard their comms even on simplex. Oh well....

Yes...thanks for the 159.405 freq....very helpful. Any idea of other VHF-Hi freqs, other than 155.73, 475, 19 that we may not be aware of in the MSP band plan?

Interesting....that 159.405 freq crossmatches with call signs for a bunch of DNR freqs. Maybe MSP just borrows a DNR freq for STATE TEAM ops....or do they use it exclusively? I vaguely recognize that freq....perhaps that was the old patch for St. Michael's PD into MSP Easton many years ago?

Yeah 159.405 does not make any Sense, it is a DNR Frequency.

MSP Portables
155.730 is Channel 1 Pl varies depending on Barrack.
155.475 is Channel 2 CSQ
155.190 is Channel 3 Pl 173.8
I cannot answer for any other Frequencies in their Portables but all they have is 16ch. HT1000

They also still have some 16 channel MT1000's floating around down here on the shore, and also have some newer kenwoods (not sure of the model number).
