Need an assist from you MD guys. Will be on 95 passing thru MD & just interested in the MSP freqs for I-95. If theres no common ones, then which troops provide coverage. I’m guessing they all work off the MD state 700 system. TY for any assistance.

I-95 from the Mason Dixon south to Laurel, the MSP are on the 700 system, and is assigned to the North East, JFK, Belair and Waterloo Barracks. The highway in Baltimore City and north to theJFK toll gates is patrolled by the Transportation Authority Police, also on the 700 system. I-95 in Prince Grorges County from Laurel to the Wilson Bridge is again patrolled by MSP College Park and Forestville Barracks, but they operate on the Prince George’s County 700 system. This might change later this summer when Zone 5 becomes active in the Metro DC counties.

I don't think that the Bel Air D Barrack patrols any part of I95, but you may wish to add it with them patrolling all other areas of Harford County. JFK M Barrack should patrol all of I95 after the part in Baltimore City patrolled by MDTA PD.

I travel all the Northern part of I95 in my work truck and was up that way yesterday. The JFK section is really owned by the MDTA as a toll road, but the Maryland State Police are contracted to handle enforcement on this highway. You may see a few of the MDTA PD patrol vehicles up there also, but I am unsure what talkgroup they would be using it could be the Route 40 Hatem Bridge and that talkgroup is shared with another toll road. The MDTA PD has Dodge Chargers and don't recall ever seeing one them in State Police service. MSP mostly has the newer Ford SUV Interceptors, or with some Chevy Caprices mixed in. Most the Ford Crown Vics have been retired.

Looking at threads in this post I see that MSP Golden Ring was not listed. They mainly handle the Baltimore Beltway, but have a small part of I95 South of Baltimore in Baltimore County before crossing into Howard County when Waterloo takes over. Also I think they sometimes assist on the NE part of I95 in Baltimore County.

I imagine the Belair and Golden Ring Barracks has units that assist on I-95, but MSP claims the JFK Barrack is primary on I-95 in Baltimore, Harford and Cecil counties. At least according to their website. MdTAP has the roadways associated with the tunnels, and I-95 in Baltimore City. With the advent of the Express Lanes north of Baltimore, the jurisdictional boundaries are a bit blurry. The small portion of I-95 in Baltimore County south of the city is likely Golden Ring as it is easily accessible from 695.

Also don't forget to program in specific sites unless you have GPS on. Cecil, Harford, Anne Arundel are the sites I will usually toggle on as I head South. Unfortunately the FIRST system doesn't seem to cover the beltway yet. The PG Simulcast rarely has traffic. The Anne Arundel Simulcast has surprising range. I'll hear MSP units from all over (Golden Ring, JFK, BelAir, Glen Burnie, Annapolis, Centerville, etc.) on that site and I can hear it all over AACO..

I'm not the expert on MSP but that's my current strategy. If I want to monitor beltway, you have to hit Montgomery County or Prince Georges County systems.

Does anyone know what happened to MPS Forestville ( Barrack L) on the PG System?

I'm still hearing MSP College Park ( Barrack Q ) on the PG System, but have not heard MSP Forestville for at least a month now.

Interesting. Have you heard College Park dispatching incidents in southern Prince George's, or Forestville troopers on the College Park tg? It's possible that the state police combined dispatch centers, as they did in Anne Arundel. I'll be going through the arre alter today. I'll check to see if I can find any traffic on the Forestville tg.

On my way via wb us50 and the beltway to Rockivlle, I heard several L units on the Q tg. Nothing heard on the Forestville tg.

I also checked the logs and saw only one unit Join the Forestville tg; no other activity. This was over a roughly 2 hour period. Seems like they have consolidated ops on the College Park tg.

Confirmed. I'm hearing "L" units on the College Park TG also. Seems to be very similar to what they did with Barrack P & J in Anne Arundel county.

I've been hear "L" units on MSP Rockville TG on the Montgomery County System

"L24" is currently patrolling the Montgomery County part of the Capital Beltway since 6:00am this morning,

It's not unusual to hear "Q" (College Park) units on MSP Rockville TG. Most Q units on the MSP Rockville TG are MVA assigned officers.
