For those of you who have listened, do you believe that termination of the pursuit was right?...considering it was 2AM, speeds under 45, light to no traffic, front tire gone, and the fact he tried to run over a DPD officer, and that he was on 8 mile (Non-residential)?

I don't know because it all boils down to liability and the Sgt didn't want to hang should they have hit someone and kill them. It was unusual for them to call it off because usualy they chase until they lose them or they get them.

The persuit wouldn't have been called off because of their milage. That was one of the stipulations, it's an emergency run so the milage goes out the window. Their milage restrictions were lifted in July of this year.

From the Audio the Sgt at the 29 (Metro Freeway Post in Detroit) called it off for them. They will from time to time do it but it's not common from what I'm told.
