Are MSP-Q College Park and MSP-L Forestville patched together or separate? On the PG County system, the database shows Q and L patched together. On the FIRST system, Q and L have separate talkgroups, but only Q shows on a feed. Thanks!

TBH, I've only ever heard the MSP College Park talk group in use on FIRST, at least it's the only one that you hear on the Anne Arundel site. I beleive the College Park barrack has better comms infrastructure and connectivity, thus is used by dispatchers for the entire county.

I don't receive FiRST very well, if at all, from my location on the MoCo side of the county boundary, and with PGs directional signal, I barely get them, too. (I am 3/4 mile outside the border of NH Ave) I hear MSP Q on the PG system but I cannot remember hearing Barracks L. Maybe they only transmit from the South side towers?

Thanks! I am inclined to agree with maus92 that both College Park and Forestville units are being dispatched from College Park. That would explain why the database shows no feed on the Forestville talkgroup on the FIRST system.

MSP Q and L barracks use the same TGID. They still maintain their own individual call signs for their respective barrack. If College Park has a message or call for the Forestville barrack they will address units by saying "College Park to any Forestville unit" or "College Park to Forestville units." They don't appear to have a combined or split channel for emergencies like Fairfax PD does. It all appears to be the same radio channel across both barracks.

Also, the TGID is on both PGs system and FIRST. I think that it is mainly in use on the local system and then piped into FIRST judging by the clarity on the local system compared to FIRST.

Thank you! It appears that PG County has gone the same route as AA County where Glen Burnie also dispatches for Annapolis, although there are no separate talkgroups for Barrack J in Annapolis.
