I recently upgraded from a Whistler TRX-2 to the Unident SDS200. Definitely a little brain shift on how they differ in approaches in programming. I live in central MS around the Jackson area where MSWIN dominates for all local, county and state coms. Work has me living in Gulfport about 2 weeks a month so I'm back and forth a lot. Took my new SDS200 down to the coast and found out real quick MSWIN was not the main force down there. Seemed like Waveland / Bay St. Louis had some presence on MSWIN, Jackson County seemed to have their own thing and then Gulfport / Biloxi are all on Harrison County Public Safety system. EDACS ProVoice. I bit the bullet and did the ProVoice upgrade. I've also read that the Harrison County will be soon changing to Harris P25 Phase II, thus MSWIN. Any of the coastal locals have any current updates on this?

First off, I am from central Mississippi as well. I believe Gulfport and Biloxi area recently changed to their own system. It is either 700 or 800 and the system is simulcast.

Hancock County is entirely on MSWIN.

Jackson County has been entirely on their own 800 P2 system since the summer which is also partially linked into MSWIN and the Harrison County EDACS system; not sure where they're headed in the future.... Maybe like Forrest County did a few years ago?

Harrison County is still on EDACS and is headed to an encryption-heavy Harris P25 P2 system, implementation around Q2 2027 (link here, item 23). Some of their guys use MSWIN talkgroups for certain things but only specialized units are doing that.
