I can usually receive the Payson (Mt. Ord) NOAA Weather radio on 162.425 from my house, along with Phoenix on 162.550. I use these as beacons to keep an eye on my radios and antennas.

I am not hearing Payson tonight, so I wonder if there is someone closer to it to see if it can be heard there. According to the NWS webpage at NWR Transmitter Propagation it is showing as operational.

Just FYI - the Civil Air Patrol 'Romeo 49' frequency (148.1250 MHz) on Ord went down [unknown date or reason/s] and it's under reprogramming and repair this AM. Techs are on the freq. now discussing system repairs.

I contacted NWS-Flagstaff and they confirmed the overnight outage. They report it should be working now.

I stopped receiving the Greer 162.5250 in the Snowflake/Showlow area. Still can’t receive it as of this post. NWR website does not list it as being down.

According to the NOAA site Greer is down (NWR Transmitter Propagation)

Oddly yesterday I was able to hear PRescott on 162.525 from the car, I usually don't get that from my neighborhood.

NWS said some sites were down.

They must of just updated it. I sent them an email this morning, and double checked the site before posting.

I checked with NWS Flagstaff and a tech has been dispatched to diagnose the issue.

No estimated time to arrival or repair.

Once again I am not able to hear Payson WX (162.425) for the last couple days. I suspect they are having issues again.

Several days ago, I checked the NOAA website and it reported that WWG41 was working. I submitted a 'down - not broadcasting' report. Checking Broadcastify this AM and there is this report:

"Status: The WWG41 NWR Transmitter is currently experiencing issues, and is broadcasting on low power. The NWS Flagstaff office won’t fix the transmitter power output so a return to service is not expected at this time."

The audio is 90+% static, with very little voice modulation heard via the Broadcastify signal. Nothing is audible on my Yaesu FTM400XDR. No further information at this time.

Well that is a bummer! While I use it mostly as a beacon to make sure my scanner antennas are working it is a useful weather station when in the area.

I contacted NWS last week and reported the outage as well. I got a response today that they checked it and found a very high SWR and have repaired the issue. It should be back online now.

I am out of town and cannot confirm but will do so when I return.
