Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Anyone know a shop or person that is currently programming MT1000 / P200 low band radios?

I have four 33mhz radios that need the six channel radio plan updated. Yes, some fire departments are still on 33mhz. Trying to make all the radios the same to make life easier, but our three local shops can no longer program the radios.

Probably not not that hard to program. The software available online just need the cable that's available on ebay cheap. Only problem is you will need a old computer like a 486 with MS-DOS

I can do it. I'm near New Haven. I seem to remember that you needed some to be programmed a couple of years ago too. Don S

I had a few programmed for a different department a while back. That shop no longer programs the MT1000/P200. The town got rid of their low band portables, so I picked up a few for the company I am a member of. Now I am mostly at the department next door, and have found myself handed the task of building out the radio plan for the new tanker, to address VHF and UHF ... and what a shock ... the common channels are primarily cross banding of 33mhz. So I am back to trying to get a few low band portables reprogrammed.

Presently I have one MT1000 and three P200 portables. If you are able to program them let me know how much and if its easier to mail them to you or drop them off.

Thanks.

I can also program them and align if you need. $70 bucks to program align and resolder. I would pay the for the return shipping
in USPS flat rate box.
But they would have to be mailed to Nevada. Radios only don't need the batteries.
Whoever you have work on them, please resolder the antenna connection and the connections from the circuit board to the
accessory connector.
I have worked on maybe a thousand of those and nearly all need those connectors resoldered.
Simple job, takes five minutes and pretty much anyone can resolder those.
Users handle the radios by the antenna and that breaks the solder and you get intermittent TX and RX.

Thanks folks, I just packed the four radios up and shipped them off to someone who can amazingly program them in the region.
