Came across this article in the New York Post. The MTA plans on dumping CityTime from subway radio overhaul. The top officials at the MTA don't feel comfortable doing business with SAIC.

Well that's what they get for waiting until the last 2 years to get the job done. Next time the bid will be 236 mil. The equipment was installed in 1980 and finally accepted in 1986. They knew for quite some time that it was time to upgrade. Why not just let the in house repair personell handle it. Like MNRR and LIRR did.

I have tried to find some more stuff on the CityTime project but haven't really haven't found much. Is it basically just a equipment upgrade to the original VHF system or is it a new system altogether like a trunked system?
