Large Neversink mtn fire in Reading, PA. Reading TRS TG 2805 Ops 3 operations; TG2806 Ops 4 tanker ops. Some evacuation around Fairview St & S13th/14th sts.
RFD requested air/helo tanker; non available until 6am local time.
Patch is up on UTac 41 453.4625 & TRS Berks Co TG6009 for incoming units.
State Forestry is on Bucks Co/Doylestown Rptr FD 17; 154.8825 pl71.9 and it's repeating RFD ops.

Sounds like the State Forestry guys are operating simplex on the above freq; they probably have a Berks/Rdg TRS radio that I hear in the background when the Forestry guys talk.

Last time I worked on any of FD-17 radios, it was all star net, but the forestry guys did carry BK’s in their gear bags and I’m assume they did that because of the left over legacy repeaters on VHF and for interops. Smart on their part.

OK, I heard the RFD Chief calling the Forestry guys on the 154.8825 pl71.9 freq, so they have a radio to talk to the Forestry guys. Nothing heard about a water drop yet as the fire is still spreading. I'm about 6 blks from the edge of the fire but not on the mtn side.

T2 and T26 with comms on 154.8825 pl71.9 @0820L.

@1105L Helicopter N656HA, Type B06, Helicopter Applicators made a surv flight around the FG. No comms heard; but did hear r/c on 159.285 - so brief didn't get a pl if any. They will be deciding on a water drop.

@1205L preparing for helo water air drops; looks like the a/g freq will be 159.285 csq.
Helo is showing on ads-b radar.
