Anyone had a system beep happen when status messages and affiliations appear on MTrunker32? Until the last couple of days neither had I...and I've been wracking my simple little brain trying to figure out why.

Running it on a Type 2 VHF smartnet system with a decode rate of 100%. I've got 160+ groups logged and almost 2000 RIDs...other than the incessant beeping lately it's been working great.

Oh yes, running it on a Compaq Presario 1700 laptop.

Geez I don't know what that would be. I've only seen it beep when told to via the colour properties for the talkgroup/radio, and on an emergency button being pushed. I've been running MTrunker on Fleetnet for quite a while now and it doesn't do it here. Likely a simple setting somewhere.....

That's what I thought too, except for the fact that I haven't changed a single setting on MTrunker32 for months. Probably over 6 months now...

Hello ladies :^)

I just started running M Trunker32 last night with a decode rate of about 98%, my question is how do you guys convert the hex values to frequencies when decoding a Fleetnet site?

You need to setup a .map file. For Fleetnet I made a file called 782dmap.txt. It consists of only one line:

141.015,0.015,17c

Not sure where the 17c came from... that might have been added by Trunker.

Hello,

17c is the hex value of 380 decimal and is the start of the repeater output lcn codes.

Worked like a charm, thanks a lot Chris!! I know Graeme will be pleased too.

Damn straight I am! Thanks Chris! One other question, too, if I may...when the other two ranges come into effect on Fleetnet I assume just adding two more lines to the .map file will do the trick? Someone said there is a frequency in the 2nd range on the Toronto site, I think.

Thanks for the tip Eric!

Ans yes, I would imagine you would just need to add other lines for the other ranges. Never had to try it myself, so I can't say for sure.

I can just manage to recieve and decode the control channel for the Toronto site so I'll put all 3 ranges in and see if it determines the right frequencies for me.

And just to bring this back around to square one, MTrunker32 has stopped beeping at me. Perhaps it was my constant pleads of "Please stop your damned beeping!" that did it, but I highly doubt it. The mystery continues.

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question . What folder does the map file go in ? I have tried the trunker folder where all the other files are and it does not seem to be working . I have created a txt file and called it 9215map and entered the following from the data base this is for the CREST system in Victoria

139.635,0.015

I have tried it this way and with ,17c added to the above line with no luck . Any help would be appreciated .

The simple answer is that the map file goes in the same folder as the rest of the files associated with that system.

Because I didn't like seeing a whole pile of text files cluttering up the main folder, I created a batch file that directed MTrunker32 to look in the DATA folder for all of the files it needs.

Does that help?

Thanks for the help guys . I had put the file in the trunker folder and it was labelled correctly . I only get Acc readings in the low 90's at the best of times so this maybe the problem . The numbers I see in the frequency column all look like valid 800 mhz freqs even though the system uses VHF . Is that what you see with out the map file on your systems ? Thanks

Hello,

You need to delete the frequency lines in the sys file and make sure the plan line reads
PLAN=0
