MTS 2000 Scan List

Have a quick question. A friend of mine uses a MTS2000 at his PD, they programmed the scan list w/ a bunch of stuff that he really doesnt want to listen to for a 12 hr shift. Is there a way to change the scan list w/out having to take to the radio shop? I use an XTS5000 and I can change mine w/ the buttons on the front. I was hoping there was a way to do this w/ the MTS.

The procedure for editting scan list members is pretty much the same on an mts2000 as an xts5000.

Go to PROG then SCAN then use the arrows and channel knob to select the channel you want to add or delete then press the blue side button.

The catch is that the user programmable scan option has to be enabled in the RSS.

Figured I'd tack this on the end of this thread since it's somewhat related. I have an MTS2000 I programmed with three zones (one for each area), and a scan list for each zone. Ideally, the plan was to have the radio scan the appropriate list depending on what zone was selected via the ABC switch. Instead, It seems to only scan list 1, and I can enable scanning and get the "Z" symbol by pushing the scan button ONLY while on channels 1 through 4 in zone A. Otherwise, I get the short 'disabled' beep. Anyone know what's wrong?

You have to go back into the programming of the radio and make sure each personality has the appropriate scan list assigned and that each scan list is populated according to the zone that personality will be in.

HA! Dummy. I figured if I added them to the appropriate scan list everything would be ok. I forgot about the setting in conventional personalities.

While I'm asking questions, I can't seem to get the on-screen MDC decode to work. Thoughts?

There is a minimum firmware required for the id display - not sure what it is off the top of my head.
