• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have an MTX9000 that I've converted to use on the amateur 33cm band. I would like to have this radio programmed to be as dynamic as possible, since it's not FPP. In order to facilitate that, I've setup an MPL list with 12 PL and 4 DPL codes. I've enabled MPL in each desired personality. Lastly I've configured one of the side buttons for MPL. After programming the radio, and selecting one of the personality, I get nothing when I press the button that I assigned to MPL.

I've programmed MPL on an MTS2000 and a Spectra before, so this isn't my first rodeo with this feature. Is there something different with the MTX9000 or is that feature not available even though it's in RSS?

902.0 - 928.0

Here's the ARRL band plan, but from what I've discovered it's not followed too closely:

902.0-903.0 Narrow-bandwidth, weak-signal communications
902.0-902.8 SSTV, FAX, ACSSB, experimental
902.1 Weak-signal calling frequency
902.8-903.0 Reserved for EME, CW expansion
903.1 Alternate calling frequency
903.0-906.0 Digital communications
906-909 FM repeater inputs
909-915 ATV
915-918 Digital communications
918-921 FM repeater outputs
921-927 ATV
927-928 FM simplex and links

MPL was never supported on the MTX9000 controllers even though you can set it up in the RSS.

on a side note.... on an MTS with MPL...can you set up multiple lists of tones...or are you just limited to the 15 or 16 pending on if you use one "code" as CSQ?
