Hey ya'll... I just got home from work (well actually I got home around 230am. Interesting night... had to respond to a fire (for the PD) and watch from the sidelines. Chris, did Worcester patch you into Greenbackville,VA on your 800 system for communications? I didn't realize they had a tower. Its good to be able to rely on neighboring states for assistance. Looks like your tower operations saved at least part of the building. Was anything salvagable like historical items? We had a large church fire a few years ago like that in Reliance between Seaford and Hurlock and it was a "surround and drown" operation.

Yea... We have a hard patch into one of the ESVA Freq's to our "Accomac" Talkgroup. Usually when we run any mutual aide with ESVA, they patch "Accomac" talkgroup into our working group. They did patch it into Fire 3 last night once Greenbackville was called. They have had their ladder for a couple of years now. It's a 100' Stick they got from a fire department in the Midwest if my memory strikes me correctly. I think there may be some items salvagable, as long as they dry out. Biggest problem will be getting to them due to the instability of the structure, I am not sure if they will allow anyone to go in. Time Will tell. I don't know if you saw the reports on WBOC, but they are reporting the church is 150 years old. At the scene there was alot of discussion about the age of it, but noone knew it was that old.

Noone had been in the building since services on Sunday appearantly. No firefighters were injured to my knowledge either.
