Hey Hoser, is this covered by one of the Ohio feeds on scanamerica? I'm bored at work and would like to listen in.
Thanks,
Tom

Are both jobs being carried on the Northern Miami Valley Fire & EMS feed? I think most of what I've heard has been the bar fire in Anna. If so which one just ordered the evac & PAR check? It really makes a big difference when you are not familiar with the local radio procedures and the terminology. From traffic just heard, it sounds like the Anna job (Joe's Place) was the evac, now bringing more tankers. ( I hope the bus gets out for the finger job soon......OUCH!)

Long cold night....

I listened to this job till about 0430HRS. It seemed like a stubborn fire with several hot spots in hard to access points from the audio. I found it interesting to follow along with the job and check on the local weather, 19 & windy and some of the distances that the mutual aid companies had to travel, looks like Houston (I like the local pronunciation) is about 25 miles out! I can't help but compare situations like this to my area where we have approx 75 fire stations in a county thats only about 20 miles across. When we need extra resources we usually have several close by to choose from. It reminds me that my little slice of the world can be vastly different from what others doing the same job have to deal with. I must tip my hat (leather of course) to my brothers from less urban/suburban departments that deal with limited local resources and rely on widespread mutaul aid everyday.

I quit listening at about 3. Thats very true, considering the Ladder Co.'s had to travel about 10 mile. Its very flat agricultural land here with little towns and villages all around the area. Of all the FDs involved only one was a full time paid dept. the rest were volunteer. With the wind it was a brutally cold nite. My hat goes off to them also....
