Good afternoon ProScan community members, for those of you running multiple instances of ProScan on a single PC, i.e. multiple installations supporting multiple scanners, I've built a stand-alone Windows .NET application which may help streamline your upgrade process. The app is named ProScanMultiUpdater and it's designed to nearly-automate the workflow of upgrading multiple ProScan instances. I've released the source code and a pre-built Windows .NET binary as a new project on my GitHub: Releases · pahtzo/ProScanMultiUpdater

You'll find all the documentation in the README file. If you find any bugs please open an issue tracker "Bug report" ticket on the project's GitHub page. This project is unlikely to evolve much since it's targeted to a very specific purpose. However, if you have suggestions for improvement or other feedback you should instead open a "Blank issue" on the project page.

Thank you Bob! I appreciate the support. It's not nearly the work you put in though that's for sure!

Just an FYI to anyone giving this a look, the published release executable is clean and contains NO malware or malicious code. A couple of scanners on VT will likely get triggered by the techniques used but these are the same techniques that many commercial software deployment and patch management applications use.

Version 1.0.1 released! I made some small improvements to the latest version ProScanMultiUpdater-1.0.1-windows-x64.zip on my GitHub Releases · pahtzo/ProScanMultiUpdater It is recommended you delete any previous versions of this standalone application prior to downloading the latest.

New: Added logic to the ProScan download process. The downloaded installation files will now remain in the temporary directory until the application is closed. This approach prevents redundant downloads when updating multiple times during the same session.

New: Added a new release version self-check for ProScanMultiUpdater on application start-up. If a newer version is found, the information and a link to download it will show up in a label on the Main tab.

I just used this utility to upgrade 5 instances of ProScan simultaneously. Installation was flawless and seamless, including 2 instances running my Broadcastify feed. Thank you for this!

Timely bump as the newest version of ProScan dropped this week. The multi instance updater worked flawlessly again on 5 simultaneous instances. If you have multiple instances of ProScan running, you need this tool. Thank you again!
Jim
Yes, I agree! I only have 4 instances but this tool is so easy to use it's amazing. I had all 4 updated in less than a minute!
