I've been adjusting win500 for my 197 to see which setting works best. In metro areas on several 800 systems, the audio either gets overidden(could be front end overload)or just loses a cc, but was wondering if switching from roam to stationary and checking the "check all cc in scan mode pass" would help? I hadn't checked that box before.

I suggest you read this discussion. It may answer your question.

Does the system you're monitoring have multiple tower sites with different frequencies on each, or is it a simulcast system where all the tower sites are on the same frequency? Is your scanner at home, or mobile?

While stationary it may be best to go with stat mode, if you are on the move out of the area, roam may better serve you. Just depends on the system and your location. You could always set up some objects to do it each way and check your log to see what works best for you. Check out the thread as Wenk suggested.

Still need to know this:

Does the system you're monitoring have multiple tower sites with different frequencies on each, or is it a simulcast system where all the tower sites are on the same frequency?

Some are simulcast, some are multiple tower sites with different frequencies. I monitor 2 systems at a time occasionally.
