Ok....
I know what a splitter does and its pros/cons...
I know what a multicoupler/drop amp does and its pros/cons...
I understand the differences between the two.
I understand the differences in loss to what coax type is used.
Now....
assuming we are using the same coax type for this...
If we were to take a 2way splitter - and one side has a 3ft pigtail to receiver, and the other side has a 6ft pigtail to receiver -
Is there a benifit to either side?
Bar the miniscule loss, does anything else change?
ok - What if it were a 4way splitter - and one side has a 6ft pigtail and the remaining 3 have 3ft pigtails
Is there a loss or gain on the long side? or the 3 short sides?
Is there any benefit/drawback to the long/short side?
Reverse it to (3) 6ft and (1) 3ft pigtail.
Does the result change?
What if we use a 4way multicoupler(Electroline or Stridesburg) in place of the 4way splitter with the same scenario?
Is there any change from the splitters results?
How about an 8way Multicoupler? or a 16way?
Assuming that all receivers are sitting in the same place...
Should I cut each pigtail to different lenghts for VHF only?UHF?Combination of both? AM or FM?
Should I just cut every pigtail to same length without adverse affect to what ever frequency any radio is listening to? or is there a formula?
