Multiple DLL versions

I ran a Windows search on my laptop for the RTL-related DLL files. There are at least a half-dozen copies of each one scattered about the hard drive with various SDR programs. They have different dates.

Would there be any problems caused by copying the latest version of a DLL over the older versions?

The safe approach is to place EXEs and DLLs that are known to work together in the same folder. This may mean duplicate copies of some DLLs.

Upgrading a DLL isn't guaranteed to work.
