I wish we could select what talkgroups get sent to the left or right audio channels and even select a different sound card source for different talkgroups, I capture all my audio directly out of the sound cars and have to have 13 different laptops running to be able to separate all my channels 😕
13 laptops. Yikes!!!
I'm no expert. I think the posters above know more about sdrtrunk than I, but I'll tell you what works for me. I do have 5 standalone uniden scanners feeding 5 external usb audio devices as well (
they look like this), but I do get three additional streams from one sdrtrunk and one VB virtual audio cable.
I don't know about configuring left and right audio. I don't do that. All three of these sdrtrunk independant streams come from the same P25 Phase II system. One of the sdrtrunk streams goes to the VB audio cable. I assume you know how to handle that. The other two come from the "Streaming Tab" of the "Playlist Editor" of sdrtrunk.
I use
icecast for streaming with
Butt audio for the streams with an audio card/usb audio device, but there is no need for the Butt program or an audio device/card for the two streams set up from the "Streaming Tab". Obviously you need to correctly configure each stream to a different mount point in icecast, and then in the "Audio Tab" on the "Streaming Tab" page, select the "Aliases" you want to independantly stream from the entire Alias list of your P25 Phase II system displayed on that page too (or whatever system you use). So, I get two independant audio streams from sdrtrunk and icecast alone. No Butt program, no audio sound card, no usb audio device, no VB virtual audio cable.
I have 6 copies of Butt audio, 5 usb audio devices (the computer mic input is the 6th audio input), one copy of sdrtrunk, one copy of icecast and it all runs from a single HP EliteDesk 800 Mini with16 Gb memory running Windows 10 and produces 8 separate independant streams accessible from a website.
Now, I only use one
SDR dongle and that seems to work fine for me, but I'm guessing if you tried to run significantly more feeds through the Streaming Tab you might run into delivery delay issues if a "live" feed is really important to you. My little computer set up cannot accept another usb device (it's maxed out), but a second dongle might make it possible to handle far more "Streaming Tab" feeds.
Hope this gives you some space saving ideas
Cheers
