I'm traveling from Mich to NY via Ontario next week and have a question about the digital trunked system for OPP... In Michigan I can program in all towers in just a few banks and the scanner will lock onto different towers as I move around.

I understand it'd take more banks at the least because of the additional freq's, but can I enter multiple towers into one bank or does the table thing mess that plan up? Anyone have a Win96 file doing something similar?

You may find the thread here titled "Cruisin' the 401" of some value. It's talking about the 296D specifically, but the concepts are the same.
I can't speak to the Pro-96 (which I assume you have since you mention Win96), but in general you can put multiple towers in one bank, provided only one of the control channels is audible at a time. You can either manually lock out all but the control channel of immediate interest, or program in a leap-frog arrangement.

If you have a PRO96 I have a file I can give you . Just let me know

My 2 cents...

Hello,

I can't speak for the Pro-96... but I have the OPP in one bank on my BC 796D and have no problems.

As I leave one area, I pick up the new area... a bit of overlap in the in-between areas which is nice... very smooth and no problems.
