Multiple persons in the Water - Annapolis

AA Fire and NRP are currently plucking people from the water, at least 22 were reportedly in the water at some point. Could have capsized vessels due the the wind front that passed through about an hour ago. Command trying to get a count of rescued people.

UPDATE: Apparently an Annapolis Sailing School race.... Gale Warning for the Chesapeake Bay has been up since 0930 today. A Special Weather Statement was issued @ 1328 warning a gust front approaching. 12 confirmed rescued so far.

UPDATE: USCG Urgent Marine Notification looking for a specific person, gave description. Trooper 6 searching for the unaccounted. Conflicting reports of all accounted for....

UPDATE: @1512, all accounted for, Command orders all units go available.

Severn Sailing Association Race

Please note that the 22 sailors were participating in a Severn Sailing Association (SSA) race, not an Annapolis Sailing School event. They are separate organizations.

Command over the air referenced the Annapolis Sailing School, unintentionally it seems because it did cause some confusion. Also possible that some rescue assets were confusing the organizations / using the school's location as a staging point during the rescue? NRP later tweeted that it was a Severn Sailing Association event. Anyway, there were a lot of people in the water as a result of an event that probably should have been postponed based on the weather forecast. We were scheduled to fly today but cx last night due to the forecast.

AAFD also spent time after clearing the initial call assisting in the recovery of capsized sailboats, checking sail numbers, and responding to additional calls related to the incident.
