Shout out to this Etsy shop FlathersCreations for an awesome desk mount option for stacking your mobiles.
So I've been wanting a 2 or 3 radio desk mount from Spectrumforce for some time but they've been out-of-stock at Scannermaster. HRO sells them too and has them available but for more money and they are already pricey IMO. Came across this Etsy shop in my search and they've got a few tower options for 1, 2, 3 & 4 radio stacks, made out of Birch wood. They say it can be easily painted so I may paint mine black to better match the radios.
I prefer this tower mount over the Spectrumforce (based on photos and from what I've read) because of its minimal footprint on my desk and because the radio controls are in the clear. Just a nice minimalistic design. They have a few options, I picked the one with a taller base and I'm realizing now that I could mount a 4th radio easily on the bottom. It is sturdy! I can push buttons/operate the scanners one-handed and it doesn't move. You also have 3 slots to choose from if you wanted to mount the radio further back or closer to you. You'll see in the photo I chose 3 different slots for each radio, great for the SDS200 that isn't as deep as the 996 and 536. It's able to hold the radios at an angle without slipping too, it's solid.
The only thing is the SDS200 has a slightly less width than the other two. You can see the wood bend a little in at the 200 but don't know if that will be bad for it long-term. May add a couple of rubber washers. Anyway, great initial impression and great alternative to the popular Spectrumforce product. This cost me $40 shipped and it arrived in 6 days USPS.
